The Wust is a region of the New World that only recently
has been explored by the empire. Overall the Wust (waste or wasteland
in the language of the Lowe nomads) is used to describe a section of
the continent that includes many various areas from the Dark Forest
and Black Peaks in the north to the Mud flats and the Strip in the south.
Specifically the Wust is the name of the vast unnatural desert that
separates the north and south. Civilization is scarce in the region
and the land is considered mostly useless and inhabitable. Only discoveries
of resources in the north have made the land of interest to the empire.
They are currently attempting to secure the north and establish a presence
in the area.

The
Wust: The specific land called the Wust is a desert region nestled
between the mountains and the sea to the east and the north and extends
far to the west. It's an arid desert and the only habitable region lies
in the delta along the river, Lebenstrick (life's way or lifeline in
the Lowe tongue). There is also a trade route that has been created
between the two Imperial outposts, Portsmouth and Schwarze. The only
town within the Wust itself is Crossroads. A small village that on the
crossing of the trade route and Lebenstrick.
The
Dark Forest (Geheim Wald): To the southwest of Crossroads lies the
Dark Forest. Rich in natural resources the empire has established a
stronghold, Schwarze, from which to utilize the resources. There are
Kindari who now roam the forest. The Dark Forest is a wild and dangerous
place. The Lowe consider the land to be haunted and avoid it if at all
possible. As the empire has moved deeper into the forest they have run
into trouble with the Kindari tribes and a belligerent tribe of goblins.
The
Black Peaks (Schwarz Gebirge): The Black Peaks sit to the north
and west of Crossroads. Impassable and inhabitable except by the hardiest
of races. Due to the steep and dangerous nature of the Peaks the region
has remained unexplored. Considered to be of little value and no importance,
the empire has mainly ignored the area. A mercenary organization named
Torkain's Hammer has been given the foothills to patrol. The Lowe speak
of several tribes of Ogre and Troll that live in the mountains. There
is a legend of a giant who lives at the top of highest peak in the mountains,
his knowledge is said to be endless.
The
Mudflats (Sumpf): The area where the Lebenstrick meets the sea creates
a swampy region referred to as the Mudflats. Overgrown with vegetation
and covered with water the region has no value. There are several tribes
of Lizardmen and other races that populate the region. Traditional enemies
they have banded together recently. There is a small military outpost
that lies at the edge of the Mud flats, the Strip, and The Wust.
The
Strip: The Strip is a large grass lands region that lies between
the Wust and the sea. The empire has built a port, Portsmouth, in the
area. The Strip is normally the winter home of the Lowe tribe and the
Aurocks they follow. Otherwise the Strip is home to various hermits,
loners, bandits, and other people who are attempting to flee civilization.
The
Delta: Along the Lebenstrick lies a small fertile area. Various
creatures and races populate this land. Crossroads lies within the Delta.

Crossroads: A small trading village that lies at the crossing
of the major trade artery between Portsmouth and Schwarze, and the mighty
river Lebenstrick. The First advisor to the Governor oversees crossroads.
Portsmouth:
Portsmouth is the oldest city in the area. It has become the center
of civilization as the empire expanded into the Wust and the Dark Forest.
It is a base for military activity as troops are transferred north to
Schwarze. It is currently the seat of government for the Wust. The Governor
and his court reside here.
Schwarze:
This town is a military outpost within the Dark Forest. Established
originally as a lumber mill, it became necessary to move a military
contingent there as trouble started. It has since become a major population
center supporting both the lumbering operations and the military activities
in the region.
